Support for the 2016 Andover Carnival has been boosted by Lloyds Banking Group coming on board as the main sponsor.
While Lloyds is a familiar sight on the High Street it may not be so widely known as a supporter of local communities, through fundraising and volunteering.
Nationally, the Group took on, in 2014, a four-year support for Children in Need.
Locally, the bank’s site in Charlton Place has elected to support Andover Guide Dogs as their charity of the year for 2016. They will be holding a fun day at Vigo Park on 4th June to promote local charities and now they have committed to sponsoring Andover Carnival.
Referring to their sponsorship of Andover Carnival a Lloyds spokesman said “Lloyds Banking Group is a large employer in Andover. As part of a group-wide initiative, ‘Helping Britain Prosper’, we are enthusiastically seeking out new opportunities to support our local community through fundraising and volunteering. We are ecstatic to say that we will be joining as a main sponsor for the Andover Carnival in 2016 as one of the many activities we have planned this year. We believe the carnival gives so much back to the community and charities it supports and want to be a part of it.”
The Andover Carnival committee is delighted that Lloyds are throwing their valued support behind the Carnival this year.
