It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you of the decision to follow many other annual events and cancel the 2020 Carnival.
Although the signs suggests we could well be on the mend by July, unfortunately the majority of the work is done now and we are finding, not surprisingly, that people can’t commit to entries in the Procession, acts for the stage and stalls/caterers for the park.
Our plan is simply to press pause for a few months and then return and carry on where we left off, giving us even more time to deliver an event that Andover can join and celebrate everything the word Community stands for. We are hoping to keep the same sponsors and certainly will still be supporting the same good causes Needs Too and Andover Twenty1. If you have applied for this years event somebody will be in touch soon, but we hope you will just pause with us and return for next year.
Once the national restrictions are eased we will be straight back on it and chasing all of you to join us and take part in Andover Carnival 2021
Andover has once again shown what an amazing community it has by all the support being given throughout every area of our great town. We as a committee are extremely proud to be part of such a caring area and look forward to giving you all a day to come together and celebrate this.
We will be back stronger, bigger, brighter and louder.
Welcome to Andover Carnival
Andover Carnival is a not for profit organization of volunteers who enjoy putting the fun back into fundraising.
The Andover Carnival adopts two charities each year to benefit from the money raised on Carnival Day.
Carnival Day 2020 will be on Sunday 19th July at our usual venue, Vigo Recreation Ground, a fun-packed day from 12 noon until 9pm.
Last year we provided a larger stage and we will be searching for local artists and groups to perform a variety of acts. To ensure the whole family can have a great time there will be fairground rides/stalls, along with arts and crafts, charity stalls, a beer tent and a wide variety of food and drinks stalls.
In addition to the Fun Day, our 9th Road Procession for floats and walking groups will be entertaining the watching crowds, moving off at 4 p.m. It’s not too early to start thinking about entering and trying to win a prize. Lorries and drivers are supplied for floats, you just have to use your imagination!
If you want to enter either a float, walking group, have a stall at Vigo Recreation Ground, or apply to perform on stage; you can download the entry forms below or contact us via email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
