Welcome to Andover Carnival
Andover Carnival is a not for profit organization of 15 volunteers who enjoy putting the fun back into fundraising.
The Andover Carnival adopts two charities each year to benefit from the money raised on Carnival Day.
Carnival Day 2017 will be on Sunday 16th July at our usual venue, Vigo Recreation Ground, a fun-packed day from 12 noon until 9p.m.
This year we provided a larger stage and we will be searching for local artists and groups to perform a variety of acts. To ensure the whole family can have a great time there will be fairground rides/stalls, along with arts and crafts, charity stalls, a beer tent and a wide variety of food and drinks stalls.
In addition to the Fun Day, our 7th Road Procession for floats and walking groups will be entertaining the watching crowds, moving off at 4p.m. We will again have an “Open Theme” and it is not too early to start thinking about entering and trying to win a prize. Lorries and drivers are supplied for floats, you just have to use your imagination!
If you want to enter either a float, walking group, have a stall at Vigo Recreation Ground, or apply to perform on stage you can download the entry forms below.
A Big Thank You!
The Andover Carnival Team would once again like to say a big thank you to the people of Andover who came out to support the Carnival and help us raise money for charity. The Carnival procession was again fantastic and showed just how creative our town can be. Colourful floats and walkers provided a rainbow spectacular for the crowds that lined the route.
However none of this can happen without the support of our sponosrs, Lloyds Banking Group, Simplyhealth, David Mellors and Occado. Without their invaluable financial help and moral support the 2016 Andover Carnival could not have taken place.
We also want to thank all the volunteers who worked so hard on the day, for no reward other than the satisfaction of doing the job – give yourselves a pat on the back!
We are delight to be able to give our two charities, Andover Talking Newspapers and Challengers, a fantastic £2000 each.
Our Carnival Royals looked great on their float in the procession and made an appearance on the sound stage. They will be performing duties at local events throughout the next twelve months.
Finally, all Andover residents are invited to attend the Carnival Annual General Meeting at the White Hart Hotel, Andover, on Monday 5th September at 7p.m. If you have any points to raise concerning the Carnival, this is the time and place to do it. Let’s hope there’s a good turn-out.
